Volunteer Event Descriptions

In-Person Clinic: In person tax clinic at MNSU Mankato. Think of this as a guided work session - clients come in to the clinic in 2 waves to work on their tax returns. Clients will be preparing their own tax returns on their own computers. If they have questions or they want a review when their return is ready to file, they raise their hands and the volunteers go help them. You will be helping multiple clients throughout the event.

All remote events: Remote events are held through a zoom meeting, which is led by a site coordinator. The SC will put you in a breakout room, and you'll meet there 1:1 with a client. You can expect to answer questions from clients. Clients will also share their screen so that you can help them with TaxSlayer, as well as complete quality reviews of their finished return documents.

Remote Tax Clinic: In remote clinics clients rotate in and out of breakout rooms to get multiple sessions with volunteers.

Remote Office Hours: Office hours are one session and done with a client.
